More Felt-Tipped Marker!

from my advertising agency days...
We got all kinds of requests these are just a few I actually got my hands on after the digitizing was done the client didn't always need or want the original.
Aventures à Vélo is a company that does guided tours for mountain bike expeditions or excursions for multiple day camping trips. I had to do the research old school. Bought a few magazines and went down the stairs to a neighboring sports store to sketch bikes! You'll notice I went all out on the foreshortening, I like distorting things.
Try and imaging trying to understand a client's idea of what it should look like. He shows up with a strange piece of black plastic and explains that it's a flexible bordering and retaining device for landscaping and pavement. I want you to show me an "x-ray" of it installed he says! No problem!
Here's my final composition in Quark Xpress
This is meant to sell the high technology of pre-press. At the time this was all very high end stuff. DSL didn't exist but my employers had a server with BBS and clients could "one at a time"  dial in and upload files for printing! That machine on the left is a scanner capable of 15,000 dots per inch! A flat bed scanner is only capable of a few hundred and after that it emulates! This was and still is impossible to beat as far as technologies go. Right of that is a Canon copier with a four processor ripping server. It took a monster PC inside the scanner and the biggest Macintosh made just to get a picture from the drum scanner. The brown machine is a Postscript image setter (film era) Now you go directly to plates! Our Photoshop files were so big we needed all the external drives we could plug into a SCSI daisy chain just to save the file!
Greeting card for a chiropractor.
